About me:
Captivated by changing light
People often inquire, “What kind of photographer are you?” My response is consistent: “I am an opportunist, inspired by the light around me.” Consequently, my primary focus is on capturing nature-based imagery, including landscapes, architecture, fauna, and flora. Creatively, I enjoy experimenting with various techniques such as abstract, Intentional Camera Movement (ICM), macro, black and white, street photography, and using experimental lenses. While I don’t specialize in portraiture, I do appreciate capturing candid shots of individuals unaware of the camera, which is an element of street photography. I am always seeking inspiration from other photographers and locations. My ultimate aim is to perceive the unseen, striving for uniqueness.
Additionally, I am honing my skills in utilizing software to enhance my images. The technical aspects of photography present a challenge, yet I recognize the importance of understanding my equipment’s capabilities, the mechanics of composing a quality image, and the skills required to process that image. The more I learn, the more I realize there is to know.
The joy I find in the creative process with my cameras is akin to my experience with playing the guitar. Nothing compares to the tranquility of an early morning awaiting the sunrise or the thrill of witnessing phenomena like the Aurora Borealis, a solar eclipse, a powerful wave, or visiting a long-anticipated landscape. Patience is a virtue I am cultivating, not only in photography but in my personal growth as well.
Embracing mistakes as part of the journey allows me to explore new paths, which in turn, reignites my passion for this ongoing adventure.
I appreciate you taking the time to review my work and learn about me.
